TheCatUnion strengthens South Florida's grassroots cat rescue network, connecting caregivers, shelters, vets, fosters, and transport partners so more cats get the care they need.
South Florida's grassroots cat rescuers operate on the frontlines daily. They feed colonies, manage TNVR programs, and rescue sick or injured cats, often completely out-of-pocket and in isolation.
TheCatUnion was founded to connect these independent efforts. We don't replace grassroots rescuers; we empower them with coordinated funding, shared transport routes, and medical support.
By shifting from isolated rescue attempts to a unified network model, we resolve the main bottlenecks in community cat care.
Local rescuers operate in silos. An independent rescuer might find a cat needing urgent surgery but lack the vet relationship or immediate funds to save them, while another rescuer nearby has access but doesn't know of the need.
We provide a centralized communication and resource network. Rescuers can post needs, request emergency micro-grants from our Veterinary Care Fund, and coordinate foster space instantly.
We focus our resources where they make the most significant operational difference for grassroots rescuers.
We equip active rescuers with traps, recovery cages, colony shelter materials, and bulk food donations to sustain daily field work.
Through our micro-grants program, we directly pay veterinary partners for critical medical care, spaying/neutering, and emergency surgeries.
We coordinate cross-county transport networks to move cats from high-risk environments into loving foster homes and adoption partners.
Every cat rescued is a collaborative success story made possible by the union of many hands.
